In November 2025, ICoCA returned to Egypt to build on its May visit and support the launch of the ICoCA Egypt Chapter, the Association’s first National Chapter. The Chapter will serve as a hub to raise awareness, promote responsible security practices and support local companies in implementing international standards. The launch was celebrated with a roundtable and reception hosted by Ulric Shannon, Canadian Ambassador to Egypt, bringing together the diplomatic, corporate and security communities to discuss responsible security and international standards. The event offered an invaluable opportunity to engage with Egypt’s security leaders and discuss how international frameworks can support responsible security operations.
Another key achievement was the collaboration with the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), now directly accrediting certification bodies to ISO 18788. The Certification Body IQS Egypt conducted the first audit under this framework for ICoCA Member All Care, marking a milestone for certification across the Middle East and Africa. ICoCA also visited Middle East Security (MES)’s new HQ in Cairo, supporting their path toward ICoCA membership.
During the visit, ICoCA engaged with a wide range of stakeholders, including government representatives, private security companies, certification bodies and corporate clients. Discussions highlighted the importance of integrity, accountability, respect and good working conditions for security personnel, as well as the growing responsibilities related to technology, data protection and privacy.
The launch of the Egypt Chapter and the first ISO 18788 audits mark a major step in fostering sustainable, rights-respecting security practices. ICoCA will continue working with Members, clients and local stakeholders to strengthen standards and accountability across the country’s private security sector.
