PROTECTING PERU’S FORMAL MINING

Last Friday, the Instituto de Criminología y Estudios sobre la Violencia, in collaboration with ICoCA and the Embassy of Switzerland in Peru, held a presentation of the study “Threats to Formal Mining” at the Swiss Embassy in Lima.

Formal mining, one of Peru’s main economic activities, has faced a variety of threats to the security of its operations over the last decades.

As part of the Trends and Alerts series, the Instituto de Criminología y Estudios sobre la Violencia presented this analysis, which examines the evolution of these threats, current challenges and the scope of policies and management strategies implemented.

This study, commissioned by ICoCA, seeks to support informed decision-making in the face of emerging threats to private sector security.
