A couple of weeks ago, the Organization of American States (OAS), which encompasses the 35 independent states of the Americas, passed a text of resolutions. It includes instructions to promote the Montreux Document and to publicise ICoCA, encouraging more Member States to join and use ICoCA-certified providers for security services.
This significant recognition of the importance of private security issues in the region opens up new perspectives for the Association, paving the way for future collaboration and opportunities to continue our work in Latin America.
With Uruguay having joined ICoCA earlier this year, we look forward to more LATAM countries joining and to more companies requiring their security providers to join the Association and attain ICoCA certification. This will raise industry standards across the region and promote respect for the human rights of affected communities
