Dans le cadre de l’engagement continu d’ICoCA avec l’Union Europ\u00e9enne (UE), Jamie Williamson, le Directeur Ex\u00e9cutif, a eu le privil\u00e8ge aujourd’hui d’informer le Groupe de Travail du Conseil de l’UE sur les Droits de l’Homme (COHOM). S’appuyant sur des dialogues ant\u00e9rieurs avec d’autres institutions europ\u00e9ennes, cette r\u00e9union a \u00e9t\u00e9 l’occasion d’explorer plus avant la mani\u00e8re dont l’UE et ses \u00c9tats membres peuvent soutenir ICoCA dans sa mission.<\/p>\n

Depuis un certain nombre d’ann\u00e9es, des pr\u00e9occupations concernant les risques pour les droits humains associ\u00e9s \u00e0 des pratiques de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 inad\u00e9quates ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es aux institutions de l’UE, mais aucune action globale n’a \u00e9t\u00e9 entreprise. Cependant, \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re des appr\u00e9hensions accrues li\u00e9es \u00e0 des entit\u00e9s telles que le groupe Wagner et d’autres acteurs malveillants identifi\u00e9s, un changement de perspective pourrait \u00eatre en cours.<\/p>\n

En outre, l’adoption imminente de la Directive Europ\u00e9enne sur la Diligence Raisonnable en Mati\u00e8re de D\u00e9veloppement Durable des Entreprises (CSDDD) offre un potentiel important, \u00e0 condition qu’elle soit mise en \u0153uvre de mani\u00e8re robuste et assortie de mesures d’accompagnement. Reconnaissant que de mauvaises pratiques en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 posent des risques inh\u00e9rents, il est raisonnable de penser que les entreprises, au minimum, devraient \u00eatre mandat\u00e9es pour rendre compte de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 priv\u00e9e au sein de leurs cha\u00eenes d’approvisionnement mondiales.<\/p>\n

Etant donn\u00e9 le r\u00f4le multiple de l’UE en tant qu’utilisateur de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 priv\u00e9e, r\u00e9gulateur et institution politique engag\u00e9e dans la d\u00e9fense des droits humains, il existe une opportunit\u00e9 substantielle d’\u00e9lever les normes dans le secteur de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 priv\u00e9e. ICoCA se r\u00e9jouit de travailler davantage avec les institutions de l’UE pour faire avancer cet objectif commun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
