Conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la mission d&rsquo;ICoCA, cette recherche a explor\u00e9 les conditions de travail sous l&rsquo;angle des droits humains, en \u00e9valuant comment les conditions de travail recoupent les droits du personnel et de quelle mani\u00e8re elles peuvent influencer le traitement du public par le personnel. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, le personnel de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 priv\u00e9e est plus nombreux que les forces publiques dans de nombreuses r\u00e9gions du monde. Les organisations humanitaires, les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s mini\u00e8res, les gouvernements, les particuliers et d&rsquo;autres encore font tous appel \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 priv\u00e9e pour prot\u00e9ger les sites, les biens et les personnes. Dans de nombreuses circonstances, la pr\u00e9sence de forces priv\u00e9es est une condition pr\u00e9alable \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation des op\u00e9rations du client. Toutefois, la qualit\u00e9 des services fournis, qui d\u00e9pend en partie des conditions de travail du personnel, est le facteur d\u00e9cisif pour d\u00e9terminer si les services de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 am\u00e9lioreront les r\u00e9sultats en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour les clients, le personnel et les civils ou s&rsquo;ils les compromettront. Les effets des conditions de travail se r\u00e9percutent sur les communaut\u00e9s. Les conditions de travail sont un facteur n\u00e9glig\u00e9 de respect des droits humains et un \u00e9l\u00e9ment sous-explor\u00e9 des droits de l&rsquo;homme du personnel. De mauvaises conditions de travail peuvent souvent violer et saper les droits du personnel. Ces conditions ont \u00e9galement des cons\u00e9quences sur la sant\u00e9 mentale et physique du personnel, sur ses relations et sur sa vie en dehors du travail. La culture du silence qui r\u00e8gne dans le secteur tend en outre \u00e0 occulter les conditions de travail, ce qui perp\u00e9tue les mauvaises conditions de travail au d\u00e9triment du respect des droits humains. Cette recherche est centr\u00e9e \u00e0 la fois sur les personnes travaillant dans le secteur et sur les communaut\u00e9s affect\u00e9es par ses op\u00e9rations, mettant en lumi\u00e8re des parties du secteur qui ont souvent \u00e9t\u00e9 cach\u00e9es \u00e0 la vue du public. La qualit\u00e9 des services fournis, l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 op\u00e9rationnelle et la protection des sites et des personnes d\u00e9pendent des conditions de travail du personnel. Investir dans les conditions de travail est l&rsquo;occasion pour les clients, les entreprises, les gouvernements et les autres acteurs de rehausser les normes du secteur, de promouvoir une r\u00e9putation positive du secteur, de prot\u00e9ger les droits des travailleurs et d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer la prestation de services en encourageant une culture de l&rsquo;attention et du respect dans le secteur.<\/p>\n<p>ICoCA a men\u00e9 des entretiens avec plus de 40 experts du secteur de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 priv\u00e9e bas\u00e9s dans le monde entier, y compris des universitaires, des directeurs d&rsquo;entreprises de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 priv\u00e9e, du personnel et des organisations de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile. Un questionnaire en ligne a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 distribu\u00e9e \u00e0 environ 400 personnes dans le monde et des enqu\u00eates en personne ont \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es aupr\u00e8s d&rsquo;environ 3 000 personnes au Kenya, en Tanzanie et en Ouganda en 2023. Ce travail s&rsquo;est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 dans le monde entier, en \u00e9valuant les conditions de travail et en examinant leur importance pour la prestation d&rsquo;une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 responsable dans une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de contextes. Les r\u00e9sultats ont permis d&rsquo;identifier une s\u00e9rie de d\u00e9fis sur le lieu de travail, notamment en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration, d&rsquo;horaires et de discrimination.
