El cobalto, un componente esencial de las bater\u00edas utilizadas en dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos y veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos, ha situado a la RDC como un actor fundamental en la cadena de suministro mundial. Sin embargo, la explotaci\u00f3n de este recurso se ha asociado a menudo con violaciones de los derechos humanos, degradaci\u00f3n del medio ambiente y exacerbaci\u00f3n de las tensiones existentes en las comunidades locales.<\/p>\n<p>En este contexto, ICoCA reconoce la urgente necesidad de fortalecer la capacidad de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil (OSC) para supervisar las actividades de seguridad privada en la RDC. La \u00faltima misi\u00f3n de ICoCA en el pa\u00eds, en enero de 2024, se centr\u00f3 en este aspecto. Durante 10 d\u00edas, el Secretariado trabaj\u00f3 con las OSC locales en el seguimiento y la documentaci\u00f3n de las actividades de las empresas de seguridad privada (ESP).
