La DIGESSP es la instituci\u00f3n encargada de regular, autorizar y supervisar la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios de seguridad privada en Guatemala. Su papel consiste en garantizar que dicha prestaci\u00f3n, tanto por parte de las empresas como de los particulares, se ajuste a la constituci\u00f3n guatemalteca y a la legislaci\u00f3n nacional e internacional aplicable.<\/p>\n<p>La sesi\u00f3n informativa se organiz\u00f3 a ra\u00edz de una manifestaci\u00f3n de inter\u00e9s de la DIGESSP por conocer las mejores pr\u00e1cticas internacionales existentes en el \u00e1mbito de la seguridad privada, y fue facilitada por las embajadas del Reino Unido y Suiza en Guatemala. ICoCA present\u00f3 la historia y el contenido del C\u00f3digo Internacional de Conducta, las funciones y la misi\u00f3n de la Asociaci\u00f3n, y el trabajo que lleva a cabo con diversas partes interesadas para garantizar la prestaci\u00f3n responsable de servicios de seguridad privada. Durante la presentaci\u00f3n, ICoCA subray\u00f3 que el C\u00f3digo Internacional de Conducta es una herramienta importante para las empresas que ofrecen servicios de seguridad privada en entornos complejos y poco complejos, que es necesaria una diligencia debida adicional en las pr\u00e1cticas de contrataci\u00f3n de los clientes de seguridad privada, y que la contrataci\u00f3n de empresas miembros y afiliadas de ICoCA aporta un valor a\u00f1adido en t\u00e9rminos de garant\u00edas sobre el cumplimiento por parte de la empresa de los principios de los derechos humanos y el derecho humanitario. La sesi\u00f3n informativa ofreci\u00f3 al personal directivo y a los formadores de la DIGESSP la oportunidad de ponerse al d\u00eda sobre las caracter\u00edsticas y los retos en materia de derechos humanos asociados a la seguridad privada en Guatemala y en la regi\u00f3n en general, as\u00ed como sobre las herramientas internacionales disponibles para hacer frente a estos retos.<\/p>\n<p>La sesi\u00f3n fue bien acogida por los participantes y la DIGESSP y los organizadores est\u00e1n estudiando la posibilidad de organizar sesiones de seguimiento con empresas de seguridad privada.
