Con el mandato de proteger las instalaciones esenciales o de hacer cumplir las medidas de contenci\u00f3n, se ha convertido de hecho en el guardi\u00e1n de las comunidades locales en muchos contextos fr\u00e1giles. Si bien esto arroja luz sobre el papel cada vez m\u00e1s importante que desempe\u00f1a la industria en entornos conflictivos y complejos, tambi\u00e9n plantea nuevos retos en cuanto al acceso a los beneficiarios y el avance de los esfuerzos de consolidaci\u00f3n de la paz.<\/p>\n<p>Esta mesa redonda aclara las obligaciones de los proveedores de seguridad privada a la luz de las prioridades cambiantes dictadas por la lucha contra el COVID-19, considera el papel esencial de la sociedad civil en la promoci\u00f3n de la transparencia, la supervisi\u00f3n y la rendici\u00f3n de cuentas del sector, y aborda elementos que a menudo se pasan por alto en los debates sobre la consolidaci\u00f3n de la paz, como el uso de las nuevas tecnolog\u00edas y el deber de diligencia de los proveedores de seguridad privada hacia sus clientes.
