Assessing Performance

Assessment of ICoCA Member Companies' performance under the Code is guided by the performance and compliance indicators developed by the Board and referred in the Article 12 procedures. The indicators inform the Association assessment of information collected through the three core functions – Monitoring activities include the screening of public sources (remote monitoring), the Company Self-Assessment and in-country missions (field-based reviews). Once a compliance concern is identified, the Secretariat enters into a confidential dialogue with the Member Company to address the concern and improve performance. In case of continued non-compliance, the Board makes recommendations for corrective action and ultimately initiates suspension proceedings.

In order to assess and promote Code compliance and continual improvement, the ICoCA also develops performance and compliance indicators in addition to tools and guidance on different Code requirements.
